Strategies give you more control over how an order follows the market, when it starts, and how it trades across one or more markets. Choose a type below for its settings and examples.

At a glance

Chase

Follow the best bid or ask with a post-only limit order.

Conditional Market

Place a market order when a chosen market meets a price condition.

Conditional Limit

Place a limit order when a chosen market meets a price condition.

OCO

Set two alternative stop orders; the first to trigger cancels the other.

Trailing Stop

Track the market with a stop that adjusts as the price moves in your favor.

Swarm

Place small market orders in quick succession.

Trigger Swarm

Wait for a price condition, then place market orders one at a time.

Atomic

Submit a basket of market orders across several markets together.

Managing strategies

Chase, conditional orders, OCO, Trailing Stop, Swarm and Trigger Swarm manage execution for you. TWAP also uses the Strategies tab. Atomic submits ordinary market orders, with each leg shown in Positions and Trade History.
  • Where to find them. Open strategies appear in the Strategies tab, grouped by type. Resting orders appear in Open Orders, and fills appear in Trade History.
  • Status. The table shows whether a strategy is waiting, running, paused or finished. Check its status and filled amount to see what has executed.
  • Cancelling. Cancel an open strategy from the Strategies tab. Cancellation also cancels its resting orders. Trades already filled remain in your account.
  • Slippage. Market orders placed by these strategies use your Max Slippage setting. A trigger or a completed schedule does not guarantee that the full amount fills.
  • Limits. Each account can have at most 100 open strategies at a time.
  • Reduce Only. Restricts fills to reducing an existing position. You cannot combine it with an attached TP/SL.
