

Pacifica Hackathon
Welcome to Pacifica's First Hackathon! All the information you need to know regarding our hackathon will be available down below.
Overview
The Pacifica Hackathon is a one month, online event designed to bring together developers, quants, and builders to create innovative applications on Pacifica’s perpetuals infrastructure. Participants can compete individually or in teams of up to five members, exploring multiple tracks ranging from trading automation to DeFi composability.
The hackathon is ideal for algorithmic traders, DeFi developers, data engineers, product builders, students, and hackathon enthusiasts seeking to leverage Pacifica’s APIs and builder tools.

Timeline
Feb 25th
Kickoff
The hackathon opens with a welcome ceremony and a walkthrough of the Pacifica API. Participants form teams and familiarize themselves with available resources.
Mar 16th to Apr 16th
Dev Period
Teams actively build their projects. Daily office hours will be available. Additional asynchronous support is available via Discord.
Apr 16th
Submission Deadline
All teams must finalize their projects and submit the required materials, including code, demo videos, and documentation. This is the final opportunity to ensure projects are complete.
Post Submissions
Demo Day
Teams present their projects to the judging panel. Judges evaluate submissions based on innovation, technical execution, user experience, potential impact, and presentation. Winners are announced as the event ends.
Teams are encouraged to plan development in stages: early prototyping, core functionality and testing, and polishing, demo prep, and submission.
Attendance at the kickoff and demo day is strongly recommended for all participants.

Team Rules
Participants can join solo or in teams of up to 5 members.
Teams must register via the official form and join Discord for communication.
Team members MUST attend the kickoff and demo day.
Teams are responsible for submitting their own work by the deadline.
Teams can change members only during the first half of the hackathon.
Teams MUST use Pacifica API and/or Builder Code to build their projects.
All work presented in the hackathon must be created during the hackathon period. Pre-built projects or prior work are not eligible.
Submissions must reflect work performed by the registered team members; external code or contributions must be clearly acknowledged.
Judging Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated by a panel during the demo day according to the following criteria:
Innovation: Novelty and creative use of Pacifica’s infrastructure.
Technical Execution: Code quality, API integration, and overall development rigor.
User Experience: Polish, usability, and intuitive design.
Potential Impact: Likelihood that traders or users would adopt the solution.
Presentation: Clarity and effectiveness of the demo.
Submission Guidelines
Teams must submit their projects by the 16th of April using the official submission form.

Prizes and Rewards

The Pacifica Hackathon offers a total of $15,000 in cash rewards and 100,000 points distributed across the Grand Prize, Track Winners, and Special Awards.
The Grand Prize - Best Overall will be awarded to one winner, who will receive $5,000 and 25,000 points. This winner is also considered a track winner and will receive the corresponding track prize.
There are four Track Winners, one per track: Trading Applications & Bots, Analytics & Data, Social & Gamification, and DeFi Composability. Each track winner receives $2,000 and 12,500 points. Since the Grand Prize winner is also a track winner, one of the four track winners overlaps with the Grand Prize recipient.
Two Special Awards will be given for categories such as Most Innovative Use of Pacifica and Best User Experience. Each special award winner will receive $1,000 and 7,500 points. In total, the hackathon will distribute $15,000 in cash and 100,000 points across all winners.
