# RFQ

> Request liquidity and review an estimate before submitting a market order.

RFQ (Request for Quote) lets you request liquidity for your order size before trading. It is available on supported markets.

## How it works

1. Select **RFQ** from the order-type dropdown, choose **Buy / Long** or **Sell / Short**, and enter your size.
2. Pacifica requests liquidity automatically. The request refreshes when you edit the order.
3. When the form shows **Ready to execute**, review the estimate and submit your order.
4. Your order executes as a market order, subject to your **Max Slippage** setting.

<Note>
  The displayed price is an estimate from the public order book, not a locked quote or a guaranteed fill price.
</Note>

## Settings

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Size** | The amount you want to buy or sell. |
| **Max Slippage** | Limits how far the execution price can move against you. |
| **Reduce Only** | Restricts the order to reducing an existing position. |

## Good to know

* Requesting liquidity does not place a trade. You still need to submit the order.
* If liquidity is unavailable, the form cannot proceed until a fresh request is ready.
* An order can fill partially. Any amount that cannot fill within your slippage limit is cancelled.
