# Mark Notifications Seen

> This endpoint allows users to mark notifications as seen.

```http theme={null}
POST /api/v1/account/notifications/seen
```

This endpoint marks the notifications that you send as seen. After that, [Get notification history](https://docs.pacifica.fi/api-documentation/api/rest-api/notifications/get-notification-history.md) returns `"read": true` for them and leaves them out of `unread_count`.

* Seen state belongs to the account. All the account's devices and browsers see the same state.
* There is no "mark all" call. Send the IDs that you show, for example when the user opens the list or taps a notification.
* Pacifica ignores unknown IDs, IDs of other accounts, and IDs that aren't in the in-app history.
* The call is idempotent. Marking a seen notification again has no effect.
