# Get Web Push Config

> This endpoint allows users to check if Web Push is available and to get the VAPID public key.

```http theme={null}
GET /api/v1/account/notifications/web_push/config
```

This endpoint tells you if Pacifica sends Web Push notifications, and gives you the VAPID public key. You need the key to subscribe a browser to push. This request needs no signature and no parameters.

```http theme={null}
/api/v1/account/notifications/web_push/config
```

#### Response

* Status 200: Successfully retrieved the Web Push config

```json theme={null}
{
  "success": true,
  "data": {
    "enabled": true,
    "vapid_public_key": "BF6x0Kq2..."
  },
  "error": null,
  "code": null
}
```

<table><thead><tr><th width="208">Field</th><th width="186">Type</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>`"enabled"`</td><td>boolean</td><td>`true` when Pacifica sends Web Push notifications</td></tr><tr><td>`"vapid_public_key"`</td><td>string or null</td><td>Base64url VAPID public key. `null` when `"enabled"` is `false`</td></tr></tbody></table>

If `enabled` is `false`, hide Web Push in your app.

Pass `vapid_public_key` as `applicationServerKey` to `pushManager.subscribe`. Then send the same value as `vapid_public_key` to [Register Web Push subscription](https://docs.pacifica.fi/api-documentation/api/rest-api/notifications/register-web-push-subscription.md). The response isn't cacheable. Get the key again each time that you subscribe.

* Status 429: Rate limit exceeded
* Status 500: Internal server error

#### Code Example (Python)

```python theme={null}
import requests
response = requests.get(
    "/api/v1/account/notifications/web_push/config",
    headers={"Accept": "*/*"},
)
data = response.json()
```
